Education & Psychology
Dr. Benuck earned her PhD in Educational Psychology from Columbia University with a specialty in Neuropsychology. Dr. Benuck has a distinguished career working as a school psychologist in the Charedi School System. She promotes and has organized advanced training education for classroom teachers and thus brings her extensive current experience as well as her academic credentials to the classroom. Dr. Benuck inspires her students to follow her example with thorough study and research before entering the field of psychology.
Dr. Brim earned her PhD in Psychology from Queens College and was awarded a Kennedy fellowship researching Developmental Disabilities. Before joining the Maalot staff, Dr Brim lectured in several colleges while providing assessment and staff training services as a Behavior Analyst for schools serving children with specific needs.
Dr. Stauber earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University. She has broad clinical experience in providing consulting services to principals, teachers and parents as well as short term therapy and psychoeducational assessments for students and abuse prevention. She brings a wealth of experience at all levels of educational psychology as well as particular instruction in preparing and writing psychoeducational reports.
Mrs. Steinberger earned her MA from Hebrew University and has been a popular instructor of English at Michlalah. Her specialization is World Literature and Public Speaking and is a welcome presence at many community wide events.
Math & Science
Beginning her career as a Regents Chemistry instructor, Mrs. Duschinky became a college instructor and devoted her energies to helping students gain an appreciation for the discipline and recognize its importance as a cornerstone of further education in their chosen field of study.
Mrs. Lifshitz had the unusual combination of being both academically distinguished in the field of mathematics and head of school in Texas. She has been awarded grants in the area of mathematics instruction. She the ability to engage all of her students while offering professional academic instruction in the field of mathematics.
Dr Levron graduated with distinction from Columbia University and has distinguished career as a researcher and instructor for both pre baccalaureate and graduate students. She has directed research in large laboratory situations and now directs her talents and abilities to contribute to the advancement of science among women.
Dr. Nechama Silverstein completed her Doctorial and post- doctoral studies at the Hebrew university in Jerusalem summa cum laude specializing in molecular and membrane transport. She has broad experience in instruction and encouraging new students to explore the field of biochemistry and molecular biology. Her numerous publications and awards attest to her accomplishments
Computers
Mrs. Kelly Klein has a BA from Thomas Edison University and almost 20 years of experience as a Programmer/Analyst working in all phases of development. Mrs. Klein has created total school management services besides administering teams and interfacing between programmer and clients. In keeping with the Maalot vision of offering academic instruction by people who are current and successful in their fields, Mrs. Klein shares her expertise in the wide range of computer science services- designing, security vulnerability and best practice, network maintenance, data design and storage and much more.
Mrs. Parnes earned her BS in Medical Computer Science at Hunter College, Mrs. Parnes went on to earn her MA in Applied Mathematics at the Weizman Institute. She comes to Maalot as an experienced computer scientist as well as being a people person. This unique combination enables her to teach complicated material in an engaging way. Her care for the success of her students ensures their enthusiasm and ambition to do well.
Business & Graphics
Mr. Michael Humphries- earned his MA from the University of Texas and has a distinguished teaching and business career. Serving as a financial manager to successful businesses, he also rose through the ranks in the army as a financial resource planner and manager during his reserve duty (in the IDF). He brings his practical and broad experience both in the business world and academia to the classroom.
Mrs. Murik earned an MA in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from New Charter University. Years after publishing her own coloring books at the age of 11, Chaya embarked upon her formal journey at the Manchester College of Arts and Technology where she specialized in Marketing and Design.
Mrs. Murik has many years of successful online instruction and has mentored her students through the initial courses to significant personal portfolios- making her students ready and competent to enter the challenging world of serious graphic design. (Mrs. Murik’s international and diverse experiences, combined with her natural flair have contributed to her international extensive understanding of commercial artistry. She has shared her expertise with many eager students in prestigious institutions such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology (not to be confused with MIT!)
Speech & Communications
Aviva Elbaz- MA CCC-SLP earned her degree from University of Cincinnati. An outstanding student, she was hired to teach as well as guide beginning students through their studies. She has a private practice and experience both with children and geriatric clients.
Malkie Rosen – MA CCC-SLP earned her MA from Kean University, NJ and has been teaching and practicing for almost twenty years. Her broad clinical experience and exceptional reviews from previous teaching experience make her a valued instructor in the classroom. She is able to give the students tools to work with Yiddish Hebrew and English speaking clients.
Mrs. Blau graduated from the premier Teachers College – Bais Yaakov Intensive. Recognized as a prodigy with a broad grasp of Jewish History, she became a sought after History teacher in many seminaries. Unusually talented, Mrs. Blau is welcome in every community where she shares her vast knowledge of Jewish History encompassing all the customs and experiences of the many Chassidic as well as non-Chassidic factions of Orthodoxy.
